Dermal fillers are used to gently plump the skin overlying facial wrinkles, rejuvenating the appearance of the face. The most modern fillers are made from hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance found in our skin. Hyaluronic acid draws water to its molecules, therefore restoring volume to the wrinkle and face.
Dermal fillers are most commonly used to smooth out the following wrinkles:
- Nasolabial lines - The 'smile lines' running from the sides of the nose to corners of the mouth.
- Marrionette lines – The lines running from the corner of the mouth to the jaw/chin.
- Forehead lines - Deep frown lines that are visible even at rest (therefore not amenable to Botulinum toxin treatment)
- Lip shaping - (see seperate option to the left under treatments list)
